Friday is arrival day, with time in the afternoon to visit Museum Schaulager, Museum Tinguely or Kunsthalle Basel on your own.
17:00 Visit to June Art Fair
Unlike most fairs, this very young fair has no booths or sections, making it - in the words of Artnews - a relaxed counterpart to the " high-pressure Basel landscape."
20:30 Cocktails & introductions at Cargo Bar
In the evening, we get to know each other better over cocktails with a extraordinary view of the river that runs through the city.
Saturday, June 17
10:00 Visit Art Basel Parcours or Art Basel Unlimited .
Before we enter the exhibition floor, there is the opportunity to discover Art Basel Unlimited on your own: a huge space filled with monumental works of art by the biggest names in the art world. Also worthwhile is Art Basel Parcours: a route through the city with artworks in public space.
11:00 Visit to Art Basel including introduction and guided tour
At Art Basel we will visit a number of stands together, where you will come into contact with a wide range of fascinating works of art and various gallery owners will answer your questions about them. Afterwards you can discover the fair for yourself: there is a lot to see! It is also possible to have lunch at the fair.
16:00 Visit to Liste including an introduction
After Art Basel, we move on to Liste, which is located in the same place as Art Basel this year. We start our visit together with a comprehensive introduction to the fair by the director.
18:00 Visit to Photo Basel
At Photo Basel you will find contemporary photography by artists from all over the world; it is an excellent place to explore what is happening in the world of photography today.
19:00 Joint dinner at Volkshaus
We will conclude the day with a joint dinner at the Herzog & de Meuron-designed restaurant Volkshaus.
Sunday, June 18
11:00 Visit to the Beyeler Foundation
The exhibition 'Mondrian' will be on show during our visit to this beautiful museum, created from the private collection of its namegivers. The exhibition features works from different periods of Piet Mondriaan's oeuvre.
14:00 Private Collection Visit
Basel is home to a large number of art collectors. The collection we visit this year will be announced to participants at a later stage.
Costs
The entire trip costs €450 for members, €600 for non-members. This includes: 1x cocktails, 1x dinner and participation in the whole program incl. entrance, tours and tickets. Not included is hotel, flight/train ticket, transportation within Basel and to and from train station/airport, travel and cancellation insurance and all meals not mentioned in the program.
Conditions
Please note that booking this trip is at your own risk. If the trip can not take place due to corona measures, you will receive 50% of your registration fee back. We will cancel the trip if the events in the program (art fairs, museums, galleries, collections) are cancelled or closed or if, at the time of the trip there, is a ban on entry or quarantine requirement for the destination in question. If a negative test result or proof of vaccination is required, you must provide this yourself. If, despite the cancellation of the organized trip, you decide to go to the destination on your own, we will provide - if possible - tickets for fairs, museums or collections.
Travel & accommodation
You are responsible for booking your trip and hotel and for any insurance arrangements. We can advise you on transport and accommodation. Booking is at your own risk and on your own account.
Registration
Registrations must be received before 31 March 2023 via travel@youngcollectorscircle.nl, on this date we will let you know if the trip can go ahead and if there are enough registrations. Defintive participation is in order of payment. If you register for the trip you will receive a payment request from us. Once this has been paid, we will confirm your participation and send you regular updates on the trip and the program.
